About ewl

Directly at the entrance to the Spreuerbrücke bridge, where the Reuss river flows through the city, ewl operates one of its power plants. Here, the energy of the water is used to generate electricity for Lucerne – day after day, right in the middle of everyday life. The Mühlenplatz small hydropower plant is one of the facilities that supplies local, renewable energy, thereby powering part of the city.

ewl energie wasser luzern is the city's energy company, ensuring that electricity, water, and other utilities function reliably – often unnoticed, but felt daily.

Whoever stands here sees the water, hears the rushing, and feels the movement. What happens below remains mostly hidden – yet it is crucial for everything to keep going.
